COLLINGWOOD YARDS

Located in Melbourne's inner north, on the former Collingwood Technical School site, Collingwood Yards is a meeting space that brings together and connects the creatives, community, and culture. With over 140 years of history, the precinct completed a fantastic transformation in 2020 that was awarded the Gold Medal in the GOV Design Awards 2021 for DRIVENxDESIGN.

Working seamlessly with McCorkell Constructions, The Company You Keep, and Jordan Rowe, Micio were responsible for the industrial design and implementation of the wayfinding and building identification signage. Working with the signage and wayfinding design by The Company You Keep (brand & Identity design), Jordan Rowe (signage and wayfinding designer), and Tim Rob Don Dow (wayfinding strategist), our team worked to refine and perfect the feasibility and sustainability of the designs to honour the precinct's history and previous schools' cultural and historical heritage. In addition, ensuring the signage paid homage to the quality and value of that culture and community instilled within this fantastic piece of Victorian architecture throughout the project.

We are incredibly proud to have contributed to this impressive transformation of Collingwood Yards, and it is rewarding to be a part of Melbourne's history and creative culture.
